Senator Franklin Romero received a delegation from Fundación Rosario Gatón in his office at the Senate of the República Dominicana, led by its founding president, Dr. Julio César Rosario Gatón. The meeting was also attended by the organization’s vice president, Don Pedro Eugenio Ángeles Gómez, and Dr. Akram El Nimer Abou Assi, director of the Department of Innovation and Technology, who presented the project details to the legislator. The presented initiative seeks to produce high-quality flour from the cocoa husk, a byproduct that is currently usually discarded as waste in the country. The executives highlighted that this project not only brings added value to the cocoa industry, but also fosters the circular economy and environmental sustainability by transforming an organic residue into a usable resource for local production.
