La Fundación Rosario Gatón and CONACADO Join Forces to Promote Three Major Technological and Sustainable Projects in the Cocoa Sector
La Fundación Rosario Gatón and CONACADO agree to promote three technological and sustainable projects to transform the cocoa sector, foster the circular economy, and strengthen its international projection.

SANTO DOMINGO, República Dominicana. – In a joint effort to boost agro-industrial and technological development at both the national and international levels, the president of the Fundación Rosario Gatón, Dr. Julio César Rosario Gatón, held an important working meeting with the executive director and president of the Confederación Nacional de Cacaocultores Dominicanos (CONACADO), Mr. Isidoro de la Rosa.
During this strategic meeting, the delegation from the Fundación Rosario Gatón formally presented three innovative projects designed to transform cocoa utilization, stimulate the local economy, and project the agro-industrial leadership of the República Dominicana to the rest of the world.
Three Projects Focusing on Sustainability and Innovation
The core of the proposals presented stands out for its focus on sustainability, digital innovation, and the circular economy.
Among the initiatives evaluated is the project for the production of high-quality flour from cocoa husks, a byproduct that is traditionally discarded and now promises to become a new source of income and nutrition, adding value to the country’s production chain.
Dr. Julio César Rosario Gatón emphasized that these three initiatives combine social development with advanced technological transfer. The objective is to directly benefit the thousands of cocoa-farming families that make up CONACADO and establish an exportable model of sustainability that can be implemented in international markets.

CONACADO and the Fundación Rosario Gatón Chart a Joint Working Roadmap
For its part, the leadership of CONACADO, the main organization of cocoa producers in the República Dominicana, showed an excellent reception to the projects presented, agreeing on the relevance of integrating research, innovation, and digital transformation to modernize the productive processes of the cocoa sector.
Both institutions agreed to chart a joint working roadmap to make the execution and financing of these proposals viable.
With this strategic alliance, the Fundación Rosario Gatón and CONACADO reaffirm their commitment to building a fairer, more humane, technically advanced, and environmentally sustainable agro-industrial model, both within and outside Dominican borders.
